If you're like many mom's and dad's right now you are reeling at the long list of school supplies that your child's school has requested that you purchase. If you really stop and think about it, you know the reasoning behind the long and varied list. With budgets cut, schools just expect the parents of the incoming students to "pony-up" and buy what each classroom needs and puts the "guilt" trip on the parent that if you do not bring these items into school; well…somehow you child will suffer and do without something.
I am a person who believe that being in something spiritual is good for everyone.
I am a military brat and as such I am very sensitive to the cultural and religious differences between me and the rest of the world, and I respect those who wish to follow a different path and I understand what the difference is between where I live, work, love and pray and where they live, work, love and pray.
It seems to me that it is our turn for a series of emergencies, losses, and general stress loading onto our lives and those that we love and care about. All of us, none of us is immune to these events, and yet so many of us act surprised when they happen to us.
